Am a female of a certain age living in KL.
I am a BIG BIG fan of anything "y": manga, anime, fanfic, movies etc. I love food, esp. hawker food and no, am not a big fan of exercise. That concept is alien to me. My life is simple with no major worries and I intend to keep it that way. Humans die eventually, why carry such a heavy weight with you to your grave. Life is short that's my motto.
These are a list of my ultimate favourites - I could read them or watch them over and over without getting bored.
1. Anne of Green Gables series (be it the book or the TV series.)I absolutely adore Gilbert Blythe and Anne Shirley.
2. Pride and Prejudice (The book. Didn't have the chance to watch the remakes.) My favourite couple of all, Darcy and Elizabeth. Talk about opposites attract.
3. Rose of Versailles (The anime and manga. I lost out on the manga. I've came across the chinese translated version of the manga but due to my oversight, I threw them away a long time back) I fell madly in love with Oscar and Andre..I bawled my eyes out when I was watching the ending...gawd, did the mangaka have to do that to them...*sobs*
4. Haru wo Daiteita. I love absolutely everything about this series. Youka sensei's artwork is amazing; the storyline to me was engaging and I love the developement of Kato and Iwaki's relationship and personality. Sigh...my ultimate ultimate dream couple...Youka sensei rocks!
5. My top favourite mangakas in no particular order : Youka Nitta, Ayane Yamano, Yamada Yugi, Fujiyama Hyouta, Mizukami Shin, Sugiura Shiho, Miki Araya, and Yamakami Riyu.
6. Xiao Ao Jiang Hu 1996. Jackie Lui really really brought to life Lingwu Chung's character. He embodies all his characteristics and that's why I absolutely love this version of XAJH. Nothing and absolutely nothing can surpass this version in my heart. Naturally I'll always be rooting for the pairing of Lingwu Chung and Yam Ying Ying.
7. Loveless (The anime and manga) Gorgeous colours and great soundtrack for the anime. I fell in love with Loveless from watching the anime first. The seiyuus were great. Especially love Soubi's voice, so sexy. The manga is great, love the artwork. Can't wait to see the mystery unravel. Of course I love the SoubixRitsuka pairing.
8. Queer as Folk. Now this is gonna sound weird but I love the fanfics that's been written about them. I know it's weird but I love the BrianxJustin and the well written fanfics really reinforce that pairing for me. Sure they had a dysfunctional relationship on TV and some may even term it abusive but it's just how Brian is - with walls up as high as Everest from an abusive childhood. My ultimate favourite fanfics are by Thyme & Sabina : The Sunshine Files series. Those two are absolutely top notch writers in my book. Their individual stories are just as good too. There are a few other writers that I like but there's too many to name them all.
9. The Rasmus & Linkin Park. 'nuff said.
10. Much love for Nodame Cantabile...Chiaki Shinichi you damn well better be walking down the aisle with Nodame at the end of the whole series!! Who knows when that would be...
I like listening to music from all kinds of languages if I get a chance to come across good ones. For me it doesn't matter what the language is as long as it catches my ears. I love watching horror movies - Asian ones...dunno why but I just love them. They cud be cheesy but I dun mind watching it coz later on I can bitch about how bad they were.
